Glass Sculptures
The entrance to the DC Park Hyatt is framed by two six sided transparent glass sculptures. The Cherry Blossoms were a natural choice as a classic Washington signifier. The imagery is an amalgam of seven different images of cherry trees. The bark of the trees is opaque, creating a dense layer juxtaposed against the translucency of the duotoned pink blossoms. The three dimensional transparent image presents many angles of layered views of the sculpture.
